The Story

Here is a little history of the personal sites I've had over the years.

My first personal site was called Million Tears and it was opened on October 2, 2004. The name came from a song by a band called Groove Coverage that was very popular at my school during that time. I was able to save some stuff from the site using the Wayback Machine, and looking at it now I cringe. I made so many spelling mistakes! I'm not a native English speaker, and I was 15 at the time, but still. I look at some of the blog posts I made back then, and think that I should have known the right spelling. The posts are also full of simple mistakes that I could've corrected if I'd just proof-read the post, but I guess I didn't have time :P But other than the many grammar mistakes, the site wasn't half bad. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to recover any of the graphics and I can't remember how my designing skills were, but I imagine they weren't great. I can remember having decent Photoshop skills, but I know I was still very much a beginner. On the content side it was pretty rich. I had a lot of information about myself and my hobbies, I had various graphics I'd made, and I also had a section for guests, although I can't remember what was in it. Back then it was common to offer all kinds of premade signs for visitors, like hiatus, enter, moved, coming soon etc. And I recall making those a lot. But other than that I don't know what was in there. The last post was made on November 19 of the same year, but I don't know if I closed the site after that or just moved it. I don't think I closed it after just a month, but I don't know for sure.

My second personal site was called Pink Attitude. I have no idea where I came up with that name. I don't have the exact date it went online, but I was able to recover a post I made in my site collective about it. The post was made on June 6, 2005, and it mentions that Pink Attitude was put up 'a while ago'. The previous post on the site collective was made on April 8, and it doesn't mention the site, so I guess PA was made sometime during that two month period, probably in mid-May. Unfortunately, I can't remember anything about the site. It's content is a complete mystery and shall remain so for eternity :D I wasn't able to recover any of the data about it, so there's not much to say. The closing date is also not clearly stated in the collective updates, but there is a mention on November 21, 2005, that the site 'was deleted' some time between October 6 and November 21.

And now we've come to this site - Confessions, which was opened on May 8, 2006. The name is, again, somewhat of a mystery. I don't remember naming it after any of my fandoms or likes at that time. I think I just thought that Confessions was a good name for a personal site. Over the years this site has gone through a lot of changes. It started out as just my personal site, but over time I added my artwork, and there have been periods when I've had different visitor content as well. For a long while it was a home for icons I'd made. Right now it acts as a simple personal site with no artwork or extra content for people who might stumble upon the site; it is mostly just for me. I'm not really the blogging type, but I do try to put up a post every once in a while, just to document the goings-on in my life and to let the odd visitor know that the site is still alive.
